Types of roses of ancient origin

Roses are one of the most popular flowers for all kinds of events. They symbolize elegance, romance, beauty and love.

When we talk about roses of ancient origin we refer to all those that existed before 1867. Since that year the first hybrid emerged, which is known today as the modern rose bush.

1 Chinese Rose

The Chinese rose comes from a small bush which is characterized by being quite resistant. It is usually used outdoors, although they are smaller roses than we are used to.

2 Rose Bourbon

La pink Bourbon gives off a lot of fragrance, it is usually used as decor in gardens since the rose bush can be shaped thanks to supports.

3 Rose Alba

The Alba rose has robust flowers of 4 to 8 flowers per bunch. They are also used for the garden and are quite resistant.

4 Damascene Rose

Damask roses stand out for being very striking and attractive. They can be found in a wide variety of colours and are perfect for bringing life to any garden.

5 Portland Rose

Portland roses are quite fragile, do not give off much scent and are very similar to the common rose.

6 Rosa Gallica

They are roses very similar to wild roses, with very intense colours. They do not usually have many flowers but they produce an incredible aroma.

7 Sempervirens Rose

It is characterized by having many buds and blooms at the end of summer. It is a good option to use as decoration.
